Our Story
In 2018, Michelin Former Sommelier Miquel Sabrià Bernabeu embarked on a lifelong dream and started M.S.B. Somms & Vineyards in the cosmopolitan and historical city of Barcelona, in Catalunya, Spain.
He studied at a young age in United States but it was in Barcelona where he graduated with the Diplomas of Sommelier in Escola Superior d’Hosteleria de Barcelona and Culinary Arts in Hofmann Hospitality School before dedicating more than a decade of his life to the hospitality industry where his adventures brought him to work from Barcelona to Hong Kong, Jakarta, and Singapore.
Miquel held high profile roles for internationally renowned restaurants such as Former Sommelier for the One-Michelin Star Restaurant Moo by the Roca Brothers; was also the Corporate Sommelier for the giant Lifestyle Hospitality Group, Ismaya in Jakarta. He held the position of Group Head Sommelier at Catalunya Singapore and Catalunya Hong Kong and was as well amongst others, the Chief Operating Officer of a company he kick-started with other partners also in Singapore years later.
His passion and enthusiasm for the world of wine and gastronomy knows no boundaries as he constantly desires to learn, see and experience more. Above and beyond the professional, his heart seeks what it wants; the personal. He can be found around the cosiest nooks of homegrown vineyards with the joyful companionship of Winemakers and Viticulturists, basking in the warm camaraderie of learning together with professionals, wine-lovers and connoisseurs as well as in the most authentic restaurants around the world alongside Chefs, Sommeliers and gastronomy-lovers.
Finally, after building his entrepreneurship from scratch throughout these four years, M.S.B. Somms & Vineyards, launches the first selection of wines, carefully sourced and meticulously elaborated within the Designations of Origin from the beautiful lands of Catalunya, where he believes wines, compete with the most iconic ones in the world.
